The Waratah double oven mitt is green in colour with the machine embroidered waratah a pale grey colour and the leaves. The pattern has been screened printed all over the unbleached cotton using water based dyes. The Linen Press, in producing this organic product, has complied with the Global Organic Textile Standard. The packaging uses recycled board and is printed with vegetable (soy) inks. The Waratah is the floral emblem of NSW. The shrub grows to approx 3 metres and produces a mass of deep red flowers. A hardy fire resistant plant, it regenerates from the rootstock after bushfires, with flowering usually occuring after 2 years.
